Biography
As a student of literature, art, and philosophy, I write with an author’s command of language, an entrepreneur’s understanding of business, and an attorney’s sensitivity for nuance.
I transform innovative and complex concepts into compelling content for business and healthcare innovators. After years of practice as an attorney with von Briesen & Roper, I redirected my legal skills to an entrepreneurial focus. Founded in 1989, Fortuni is grounded in more than 20 years of national advertising experience and is informed by multi-disciplinary credentials in law, philosophy, and the arts.
I have implemented branding and advertising messages for a range of national businesses, healthcare organizations, editorial clients, and commercial artists. Project collaborations reflect work with clients including Alerus, Archelle Georgiou, MD, Bon Appetit, Campbell Mithun, Frontier Communications, Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, Harcourt Brace, Harvard Business Review, HCMC, HealthEast, Health Partners, Immunize.org, Mayo Clinic, M.D. News-Minnesota, the Minneapolis Heart Institute, Press Seltzer, Radisson Blu, Regions Hospital, Riley Hayes, The Summit Group, Summit Orthopedics, 3M, United HealthGroup, US Bank, and Voices for Vaccines.
Fortuni’s creative work has been recognized by local, regional, and national Addy awards, Archive, Communication Arts, Graphis, and Italy’s International BolognaFiere.
I have held numerous leadership roles with executive women’s organizations Professional Dimensions and Ellevate Twin Cities. I have consulted and lectured through Advertising Photographers of America, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and at colleges including Metropolitan State University Saint Paul, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, the Milwaukee Area Technical College, and Wisconsin Lutheran College. My volunteer involvement includes work with Voices for Vaccines, the Saint Paul Winter Carnival, AdFed Minneapolis, APA-Midwest, and Adworkers of Milwaukee.
The Twin Cities healthcare community knows me as the freelance senior writer for MD News-Minnesota, the contributing editor for Immunize.org, the healthcare blogger for Summit Orthopedics, and the social media strategist for healthcare organizations including Voices for Vaccines. My work is also found incorporating branding strategy into communication messages for professional service firms and nonprofit organizations. I am committed to client collaborations that support thoughtful, healthy, and inspired communities.
When I am not immersed in research analysis, interview appointments, or writing deadlines, my posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Goodreads reflect reviews of the latest book I’ve finished, reflections on grammar and punctuation that only a proofreader could love, reports of new cultural or culinary gems I’ve discovered in the Twin Cities, the results of the latest Creole recipe I’ve invited friends to taste test, or breaking news in immunization and medical advances.
